It's time to start your adventure

My aim is to give my students the opportunity to experience the passion and excitement that I have for this wonderful instrument.

bEGINNERS

We all start off as beginners, so its always good to have a tutor who explains things in an easy to understand way and gives the student lot's of time to get to grips with things. A teacher with plenty of patience is key to a student enjoying their learning experience and helps them progress quicker. Why not check our guitar lesson video on open chords in our video section.

Intermediate learners

I teach lots of students who have mastered how to play a good assortment of open chords and barre chords, and want to progress further. As an Intermediate player you can progress with further chord knowledge, learn how to solo with confidence and enhance your rhythm playing.

FANCY DOING EXAMS?
WHAT EXAM SYLLABUS DO WE TEACH

Believe it or not taking exams can be fun, especially if you love learning cool songs. At Coolriffs Guitar School we use Trinity College London exam board exams, who offer a fantastic syllabus for players who would like to take graded exams but with a modern feel. At Coolriffs we teach both guitar and bass guitar syllabuses.

Trinity Rock and Pop exams are graded from Initial to grade 8, and on passing grade 6 UCAS points are awarded which students may use towards university . Trinity use guitar tablature as well as standard notation for their exams, So students don’t have to worry about reading standard notation music, putting their minds at rest.

We can also help with GCSE/BTEC music composition and have a studio equipped with Guitar Pro scoring software,(DAW) Digital Audio Workstation Recording Studio Software, Casio and Roland ready midi guitars and a Roland GR55 guitar synthesizer system.

This teacher goes above and beyond. My son has been going to this guitar school for years, enjoys it every week and has progressed very well. Steve has a passion for his craft and a vast amount of experience both privately and in a local senior school. Steve has helped with buying the correct guitar and equipment to suit our needs and pocket without any monetary gain for himself. He has replaced strings on guitars and provided links to access resources at home. Highly reliable , experienced and trustworthy I have no hesitation in recommending.

I’ve had bass guitar lessons from Steve for a couple of years now and can fully recommend them to anyone, whether they are beginner or experienced player. I started having never picked up a bass and soon found myself being able to identify notes and playing tracks, in my case from the Trinity exam board. I’m now playing around a grade 5 level and improving after each lesson.
